Summary/Objective

The Manufacturing Maintenance Assistant supports CHUTES International’s Maintenance & Production teams by assisting technicians with basic repair tasks, preventive maintenance, equipment prep, shop organization, and documentation. This is an entry-level, hands-on role designed for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a positive, dependable work ethic.

Essential Functions

• Assist with repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
• Assist with repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
• Work with the maintenance lead to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with production personnel to maximize equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Assist with documentation on maintenance activities and communicate equipment status clearly.
• Continuously develop technical skills through on-the-job training and mentoring.

Skills & Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and industrial equipment.
• Quick learner with a desire to expand technical knowledge.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality.
• Basic experience in a role where you were relied upon for technical or mechanical knowledge is highly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Positive attitude with a desire to grow into a manufacturing maintenance technician role.
