Summary/Objective
This role is a key leadership position with visibility across the company. Success here can lead to expanded responsibilities and future advancement opportunities. You’ll have the authority to make decisions that directly impact service quality, team performance, and customer satisfaction. Lead the CHUTES Service Department to deliver exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and team growth. Oversee dispatching, scheduling, inventory, and billing while mentoring technicians and collaborating cross-functionally to drive performance and profitability. You will also play an integral role in system development and process improvement, ensuring our operations evolve to meet future needs.
Essential Functions
- Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and enhance service delivery.
- Partner in system development and ensure operational systems are optimized for efficiency and accuracy.
Team Leadership & Development
- Assign work based on technician capabilities
- Ensure technicians receive ongoing training and development
- Ensure timely completion and submission of technician paperwork
Operations & Logistics
- Work with Dispatch to prioritize and complete jobs efficiently
- Maintain accurate inventory records (warehouse and truck)
- Ensure trucks and equipment are properly maintained
Strategic Growth
- Collaborate with Sales Manager and team to identify labor, parts, and equipment needs
- Support department growth through proactive planning and resource allocation

Supervisory Responsibility/Direct Reports
This position manages 5–8 direct reports and is responsible for coaching, performance reviews, and team development.
Work Environment
This job operates in a mixed environment of office, shop floor and jobsite trash rooms. Noise levels can be moderate to loud. Eye, ear and foot protection is required. Temperature ranges can be a bit warmer or cooler than ‘room temperature.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, use fine motor skills to manipulate hand tools and small items. For safety must be able to see and hear. The employee is also frequently required to stand, walk and do some lifting and moving of up to 35 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
As head of the service department, arriving punctually to each shift is vital. Regular work hours are 7:00am – 4:00pm, Monday – Friday. Service may require after-hours and/or weekend and holiday work (for emergency calls).
Experience with system development or ERP implementation, with the ability to integrate operations into system workflows.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position, except for occasional training opportunities and to visit mostly local job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in service operations within construction, facilities, or related industries preferred
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies a plus
Required Education and Experience
- Five years’ minimum experience in operations/service.
- Three years’ minimum management/supervisory experience.

- Forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment
