Frequently Asked Questions
Should I use the Heavy-Duty Steel Chute or the plastic DURACHUTE?
If you are using the chute for heavy demolition work, extreme heights or items larger than 28” in diameter, we recommend using the Heavy-Duty Steel chute system. The steel chute is 3’ x 3’ in size and can handle larger and heavier debris. This is also an excellent choice for a long-term project as the chute can withstand a great deal.
For lighter demolition, roofing, etc. our smaller DURACHUTE system should work. The plastic chute is 32” in top diameter, tapering to 28” at the bottom and is made of high density polyethylene and is blow-molded for maximum plastic durability.
Can I buy or rent the chute systems?
We only rent the Heavy-Duty Steel chute system – but we will travel to install (or supervise) anywhere in the US. The DURACHUTE plastic system can be rented in the MD-DC-VA area only, but can be purchased (complete with fully detailed installation manual) from anywhere. (CHUTES handles shipping within contiguous US or will work with your freight company to arrange shipments outside of US).
How high can the trash chutes go?
The steel chute patented attachment system is such that we can take it to any height.
The plastic system, dependent on the debris being thrown, should be anchored via an outrigger every 100-150’. It can also be used in conjunction with scaffolding for added support and height.
