Three DuraPak™ models are available, the versatile DP-500HD, the DP-505HD and the DP-130HD. We recommend the DP-500 for its versatility in meeting jobsite conditions and layout, and the DP-130 for use in smaller trash rooms and tight spaces as it is more compact.

DuraBagger™ Compactors
Adapted for Urban Settings
Many large cities have strict regulations concerning the usage of dumpsters. Some, like New York City, prohibit them entirely. For these situations, the DuraBagger™ DB-100 is a perfect solution.
After compaction, the DB-100 directly deposits waste into continuous, tubular bags, all set to be removed and put out for pickup. Despite modifying the base functionality to accommodate big-city environments, the DB-100 retains the quiet operation, simple controls, and expert engineering of our other compactor models.

Available both as a retrofit to your existing trash chute system or a component of a new construction project, the DuraSorter™ DS 130-Bi/Tri provides a streamlined, easy method for sorting recyclables out of your waste stream.
How does it work?
Users select an appropriate waste stream using a control located at each trash chute door. Depending on the user’s selection, the sorter’s director plates guide the waste into your trash compactor or a specified recycling container.
A host of optional features are available to complement the rugged construction and reliability found across our entire line of trash management products. Using the DuraSorter™ is an ideal way to reduce your building’s carbon footprint.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I use a 130-HD compactor vs. a DuraPak 500?
In renovation projects on older buildings, the trash rooms tend to be far more narrow and long in design. In these situations, the longer hopper on the 130-HD compactor may be a better choice than the short body HD 500 compactor.
Would you recommend a bi-sorter for compost use?
The sorter is an excellent choice for separating trash from recycling with minimum real space requirements for the chute system. But not a good choice for compost separation. Due to the nature of compost to clump and stick, depositing compost into a chute and bi-sorter system will create serious clogging issues within the chute. Additionally, the odors generating from such use would likely create serious complaints from your tenants!
Can the compactors be programmed to not run at certain hours?
Yes, we can make this an option on your compactor installation so long as our PLC is present. You would find this under option #8 – “Night time shut down.”
Should I get a compactor or a bagger?
Baggers are recommended in municipalities that require it (such as NYC, where bags are left on the street after midnight and are removed daily by 6am) or at low occupancy properties that are only 2-3 stories tall. For any property above 3 stories tall, a compactor is recommended if your discharge room has the space to accommodate it.
What is the difference between compaction and non-compaction cans?
A compaction container designed for horizontal compactors, attaches directly to the compactor with a binding mechanism and has an intake that is designed to receive the extruded trash. In addition to the trash intake it also has heavy thick steel lids that close with a weighted latch. The lid is designed to remain closed and withstand the pressure caused by the extruded trash. Without the latching mechanism and steel lid the trash would simply push the lid open as the can fills. In fact all of the compaction happens in the container from the pressure of the extruded trash.
A non-compaction container is very similar to the compaction container, however, because it will not be attached to a compactor and therefore not used to compact trash it will be void of any intake or binding mechanism and will usually be fabricated with a plastic not latching lid.
How should I anchor the compactor?
We recommend using 1/2″ x 6″ wedge anchors. If you need additional guidance, simply give us a call.

Can the compactor be hand-fed?
